Creating a custom window shape comes from using a tool that lets you draw your own boundary around the area you want to affect. The Curve Tool lets you draw freeform curves and place control points, giving you a flexible, non-standard window that follows complex edges. The other tools don’t create masks: the Qualifier isolates by color values, the Color Warper shifts color relationships, and the Open FX panel adds effects, not custom window shapes.
